Cody’s on fire
From the CHL website:
So far, so good for Team Canada.
John Tavares of the Oshawa Generals and Zach Boychuk of the Lethbridge Hurricanes each scored a pair of goals to help Canada to a 7-0 win over Slovakia in their final pre-tournament warm-up game on Tuesday in Hamilton.
Cody Hodgson of the Brampton Battalion picked up three assists for his third straight three-point game. Hodgson was Canada’s top scorer with nine points in exhibition wins over Sweden, Finland and Slovakia.
Yup, that’s our Cody Hodgson and he’s getting a lot of rave reviews for his play.
It feels good to have a Canuck prospect play for Team Canada at the World Juniors. I usually watch the tournament already, but there’s special incentive when one of your own is playing in it. It makes it that much more exciting. Of course, the last Canuck prospect to don the red Maple Leaf was Luc Bourdon (RIP). And before that, we’re looking at the illustrious list that includes Brandon Reid, Harold Druken and Josh Holden. Cody is a better prospect than all of these guys.
