The Vancouver Canucks and the San Jose Sharks have never met in the playoffs.
It’s probably a good thing too.
The Sharks are to the Canucks as Kryptonite is to Superman.
Since the 2007/2008 season, the Canucks have a whopping 2 wins against the Sharks. In fact, Team Blue is an abysmal 2-9-1 against Team Teal in their last 12 meetings.
In the same span, the Canucks have scored 21 goals (1.75 per game) and have allowed 41 goals against (3.42 per game).
The Canucks’ powerplay have clicked for 15.2% (7 PPG on 46 PP Opp); unfortunately, the Sharks’ have clicked for 22.4% (13 PPG on 58 PP Opp).
For whatever reason, the Canucks, as good as they have been in recent years, just can’t beat the Sharks.
If the Canucks have any ambition to get deeper in the playoffs, they’ll have to change that.
