Yesterday, the Canucks launched their Celebrate Responsibly Campaign with a series of touching videos each titled “This Is Our Home.”

Showcasing the natural beauty of the region, ‘This is Our Home’ promotes a simple message of the inclusive and positive nature of sports and community. It shares the values of the season-long Heart of A Canuck tradition celebrating courage, honor, humility, integrity and passion.

After seeing the events that took place immediately after Game 7 last year, you can count us here at CHB to be in full support of the campaign. We count ourselves as some of the best Canucks fans out there and it pained us significantly to see other so-called fans unleash terror and chaos on many innocent people & businesses. And as the premiere Canucks blog, we thought it prudent to provide you our own posters in support of the campaign (albeit a more tongue-in-cheek take).

The first in the series is the Sad Luongo poster. Feel free to spread far and wide!

A quick post to mention that my season preview of the Canucks for the NYT hockey blog can be found here. Just some light snark and Dion Phaneuf bashing. That link also includes all the Western conference team previews from other great bloggers. Apparantly last season I convinced them I was classy and witty enough to write for them again.

Well hey there my pretties! I`m sorry I`ve been so under the radar posting this off season, but this really will change now that the regular season is about to start. J.J. and Richard are doing a fabulous job with posting lately so I`m sure you barely missed me. Anyways, before I get to some of my pre season thoughts, I have some FABULOUS family news to report! Get ready…

My cousin, James Wright, kick ass center for the Vancouver Giants and all round wonderful human being signed an entry level contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning today! He was THE surprise of the pre season according to a bunch of the media down in Tampa. I think this deserves an OWWWWW OWWWWW OWWWWW! You have no idea how excited I am for him. I may have squealed and bounced up and down in my living room and teared up a little when I read the official press release from the Lightning. It`s a good thing I look cute in all shades of blue because I am buying a Wright jersey as soon as he settles on his full time number.

Both my fantasy hockey drafts were today and they turned out pretty damn well. Especially Luke Schenn`s Hair.

I`m really pleased I got Getzlaf and Weber.

As for the Canucks pre season, their record is pretty outstanding, but you don`t want to get too excited because it`s just pre season. Shirokov looks like he could be really fun to watch. The Sedins somehow look faster and Hank is shooting more. Tanner Glass has really impressed me and is fun to watch. I don’t know who he would replace on the fourth line but I would love to see him stick around. I’m still digging my choice of Shane baybee O’Brien for my new Canucks boyfren. He scored a GORGEOUS goal against the Ducks on Thursday. I like to think it was just for me. Now it’s almost time to organize your opening night plans. WOOOOOOOOOO!

I don’t think it’s a secret around here that I’m a Gillis fan. When I interviewed him in February he was totally lovely and rad. I think he’s done a lot of great things for the team already and if the Canucks manage to win a Cup while he’s the boss man, well I might send him a pimp cane to walk around town with. He could probably start running classes for people as some kind of patience guru after wooing Big Baldy this year. Canucks.com mentions that Gillis is taking part in a bike ride this weekend to help fight cancer. He’ll be on his bike for like hours a day. Bad.Ass. Mike Gillis you’ve inspired me to get off the couch this weekend. Props to you, sir. I do love hearing when my favourite team is involved in charity from the top down.
