The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 2 vs. Avs 4

In the Canucks’ first game in the Trevor Linden as President era, they lost 4-2 to the Colorado Avalanche and slipped to 12th place in the Western Conference, just ahead of the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers. On the bright side, as it stands right now, they look to be on track for another top 9 pick in this year’s NHL Entry Draft. Yay? #Canucks #TGATT — gladys (@gloomybb) April 11, 2014

Top 10 Chants That Are Likely to Break Out in Rogers Arena

I was at Rogers Arena last night to see the Vancouver Canucks lose 3-0 to the visiting Anaheim Ducks.  It’s crazy to think that just three short years after witnessing the Canucks clinch their first-ever Presidents’ Trophy (on March 31, 2011), I was watching them being eliminated from playoff contention for the first time since the 2007-2008 season. With three minutes to go in the third period, a very audible “Fire Gillis” chant broke out in the arena and it went on for a considerable amount of time.  Obviously, the Canuck faithful are restless and are demanding a change –...

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 1 vs. Ducks 5

Just when you thought the Canucks were kinda, sorta looking like they at least gave two shits about the rest of the season, they pulled off another stinker last night. With their 5-1 loss to the Ducks – combined with the Wild and the Stars’ wins – the Canucks are now 5 points back of the final wild card playoff spot, with only 6 games to go. Hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk with you again… #Canucks #TGATT — Chris Golden (@lyteforce) March 30, 2014

And we were so optimistic after last night’s game, eh? But now, after the Canucks’ 3-2 OT loss to the Colorado Avalanche, and the Phoenix Coyotes’ win over the New Jersey Devils, those slim playoff hopes we’re all clinging to are getting even slimmer. The Coyotes need 9 points in their last 8 games, the Minnesota Wild need 8 points in their last 8 games, and the Canucks’ season will come to a merciful end. So long playoffs! The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 4 vs. Panthers 3 (SO)

Well, that was fun, wasn’t it? The Canucks stroll into Florida, face Roberto Luongo and the Panthers, blow a late lead, and then win a shootout. Again, the kids – especially Nicklas Jensen and Eddie Lack – played well. All things considered, I guess we can’t ask for more than that. Thing 3 triumphs over Thing 1 with a goal from Jensen and big saves from the Stork. #welldonegrasshopper #TGATT #CanucksvsLuongo — doubleLuonGOLD (@luonGOLD) March 16, 2014

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 3 at Capitals 4

Lose a bunch, win one, lose one, win one, lose two – the story of the Canucks’ 2013/2014 season. The Canucks did play well. Even their power play looked like a real power play with scoring chances and stuff you should expect to have when you have one more guy on the ice than the other team does. But we’re way past the point of relishing moral victories. And with last night’s 4-3 loss to the Washington Capitals – and the Dallas Stars getting a point against the Calgary Flames – they fall further back of the playoff picture. Watching...
