The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 3 at Jets 4

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 3 at Jets 4

4-9-2. After losing 4-3 to the Winnipeg Jets last night, allowing Devin Setoguchi to score the game-winning goal with 3 minutes left in the third period, that’s the Canucks’ record in January. 4 wins. 11 losses. And like cherry on top of the whipped cream on top of the fudge on this January crap cake, they also lost Henrik Sedin, Mike Santorelli, Kevin Bieksa and Chris Tanev to long-term injuries. Wake me up when January ends. #Canucks #tgatt — Derek Bolen (@hurrrdurrr) January 31, 2014

Game Day Preview Canucks vs. Flames: Wanted: Slumpbuster

Game Day Preview Canucks vs. Flames: Wanted: Slumpbuster

After a rough, tough road trip that left them beaten physically, and perhaps, mentally and emotionally, the Vancouver Canucks are left nursing their wounds and Canucks fans wondering what it would it take to right the ship. The Canucks lost all 3 games on their just-concluded road trip, including one of their worst losses in memory, a 9-1 ass-kicking at the hands of the Anaheim Ducks. They scored a grand total of 1 goal in those 3 games, and to make matters worse, may have lost Henrik Sedin, their leading scorer, and Mike Santorelli, their fourth-leading goal scorer, to injuries....

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 1 at Ducks 9

As far as spectacular losses go – and as we all know, the Canucks have had more than their fair share of spectacular losses – surely last night’s 9-1 ass-kicking by the Anaheim Ducks must rank among their most spectacular. Have they stopped the bleeding yet? #Canucks #tgatt — Matt Man (@mattthemascot) January 16, 2014

Canucks vs. Ducks Game Day Preview: Hot, Hot Hiller

Canucks vs. Ducks Game Day Preview: Hot, Hot Hiller

It’s another Pacific Division battle tonight as the Vancouver Canucks and the Anaheim Ducks meet again at the Honda Center for the third time this season. The Canucks lost the first two meetings, including one on January 5th in which they a gave up the game-tying goal with 87 seconds left in the third period and the game-winning goal with 1.3 seconds left in overtime. The Ducks are hot, hot, hot. They’ve won 7 straight games and have vaulted to the top of the league, past the Chicago Blackhawks. They’ve been unstoppable at home. After their 1-0 shutout of the...

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 2 vs. Blues 1

The Canucks got their offense from some unlikely combinations last night. Zac Dalpe, playing with the Sedins, opened the scoring early in the second period, and playing on a line with Darren Archibald and Dale Weise, Mike Santorelli scored the game-winning goal in the third period. The Blues pressed in the final minute of the game though. And oh man, did they press hard. But at the end of it, the Canucks held on and won 2-1, breaking a 5-game losing streak. Frantic moments at the end but…yeehaaw..#canucks hold on for the win! #TGATT — Helen Hughes (@HeHughes376) January 11,...

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 3 at Ducks 4 (OT)

Things were looking up for the Vancouver Canucks in SoCal. They scored 2 early goals, and on the powerplay, no less. They were up 3-2 late in the third period. Eddie Lack was solid too, thwarting the Anaheim Ducks as the Ducks dominated the Canucks in the last 45 minutes of the game. But then Kevin Bieksa took over. He did give the Canucks that 3-2 lead just a minute into the third period, but he was also on the ice for all 3 Ducks goals, and was directly at fault for the first one and maybe even the late,...

CHB’s New Year’s Resolutions for 2014

CHB’s New Year’s Resolutions for 2014

The start of a new year is often time for reflection and resolution.  We make promises and renew commitments to our health, our finances, our hobbies, and our time and attention to loved ones. The writers at CHB have come up with some resolutions of their own, and they are all of the Canucks-variety.  Some have to do with players, others with fans, and still others have to do with personal attitudes.  You’ll even see that some have similar themes.  Regardless, we agreed that it was certainly time for a change – not necessarily for the team – but for...

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 3 at Flyers 4 (SO)

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 3 at Flyers 4 (SO)

On one end of the rink was Steve Mason, whose career the entire NHL, save the Philadelphia Flyers, had left for dead. Much was made about his past poor performances, especially against the Canucks, seemingly forgetting that he’s actually been pretty damn good during the Flyers’ 15-6-4 surge prior to last night’s game. On the other end was Tom Sestito, who was waived by those very same Flyers last season and then claimed by the Canucks, and has served as some sort of a whipping boy to Canucks fans ever since. Both Mason and Sestito had lots to prove. And...

Game Day Preview Canucks vs. Flyers: The New Year’s Eve (Kinda) Tradition Returns

Game Day Preview Canucks vs. Flyers: The New Year’s Eve (Kinda) Tradition Returns

Already with a 10-1-1 record this month, it’s shaping out to be a December to remember for the Vancouver Canucks. They have a chance to add to that as they meet the Philadelphia Flyers tonight at Rogers Arena, where the Canucks have won all 6 home games this month. This is the Flyers’ first visit to Vancouver in three years. Tonight will be the second and final regular season meeting for the Canucks and Flyers. In their first game back on October 15th at the Wells Fargo Center, the Canucks rallied back from a 2-1 third period deficit to win...

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 2 at Flames 0

No Luongo? No problem. For the second time in his last 3 starts, Eddie Lack recorded a shutout as the Vancouver Canucks beat the Calgary Flames 2-0 in Calgary. For the season, he now has a 7-2-0 record, a 1.74 GAA (3rd in the NHL) and 0.933 save percentage (6th in the NHL). Another shutout for @eddielack!!! #lackdance #Canucks #TGATT — Elmee Garner (@giggling_elms) December 30, 2013 That sound you hear is another goaltender controversy slowly growing because, you know, that’s what we Canucks fans do.
