The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 3 vs. Flames 2 (OT)

Both the Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames entered Saturday’s game on some pretty heavy-duty losing streaks. The Canucks had lost 5 in a row, and the Flames had lost 7, so both teams, naturally, were looking to bounce back and get a much-needed W. Jocelyn Aspa recaps the game in your tweets.

Performance of the Week: The No One Deserves This Edition

Selecting someone worthy of this honor is tricky because in the only two games they played, they lost 3-1 to the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday and were embarrassed 5-1 to the Rangers on Saturday night on national TV. With only 2 goals in 2 games and 8 goals against, the Canucks’ defense was pretty much non-existent, and really, so was the offense.

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 5 vs. Flames 1

In typical 2013/2014 Canucks fashion, the Canucks ended their train wreck of a season with a 5-1 plastering of the Calgary Flames. I mean, 5 of their 36 wins this season were against the Flames. Thanks for a [insert adjective here] season, @VanCanucks! It's . . . been . . . fun? #Canucks #TGATT — gladys (@gloomybb) April 14, 2014 Like this:Like Loading…

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 2 at Avalanche 3 (OT)

And we were so optimistic after last night’s game, eh? But now, after the Canucks’ 3-2 OT loss to the Colorado Avalanche, and the Phoenix Coyotes’ win over the New Jersey Devils, those slim playoff hopes we’re all clinging to are getting even slimmer. The Coyotes need 9 points in their last 8 games, the Minnesota Wild need 8 points in their last 8 games, and the Canucks’ season will come to a merciful end. So long playoffs! The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 4 vs. Sabres 2

How fitting was it that on the night Cody Godson Hodgson would return to Vancouver, on Henrik Sedin night, that Zack Kassian would notch a career-best 4 assists – a primary assist on each of the Canucks’ 4 goals on the night? Zack PASSian indeed! #TGATT — gladys (@gloomybb) March 24, 2014 Like this:Like Loading…

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 6 vs. Bruins 2

As far as rivalry matches go, you couldn’t ask for much more. Roberto Luongo was great. Tuukka Rask wasn’t. Ryan Kesler, Chris Higgins and Mike Santorelli were in beast mode. Milan Lucic wasn’t. The Sedins didn’t back down. Brad Marchand was being a dick. As usual. David Booth scored on a helluva snipe of a shot. Chris Tanev scored. Shorthanded, no less. But most importantly, in the Boston Bruins’ first visit to Rogers Arena since Game 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals, the Canucks won. And won in convincing fashion. I'm just going to close my eyes & pretend...

Canucks vs. Canadiens Game Day Preview: Small Things and Big Packages

Photo credit: canucks.com The good news for the Vancouver Canucks is, tonight’s opponents aren’t the San Jose Sharks. The bad news is, the Canucks haven’t beaten tonight’s opponents, the Montreal Canadiens, at Rogers Arena since October 7, 2009. To complicate things for the Canucks, they’ll have to go against the storied Habs without top defensemen, Alex Edler, who was suspended for 3 games because Tomas Hertl lowered his head and skated it into Edler’s shoulder for his head shot on Tomas Hertl. Former Habs defenseman, Yannick Weber, who has been playing as a winger, is expected to move back and...
