The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 6 vs. Blue Jackets 2

Well, that was a big monkey of their backs. After 5 consecutive losses, a stretch in which they scored a grand total of 6 goals, the Vancouver Canucks busted out of their slump in a big way, and beat the Columbus Blue Jackets by a 6-2 score. WHAT A GAME!!! Finally, all those shots paid off!! #Canucks #TGATT — Jacqueline B (@JacqSparrow) November 23, 2013 Here’s hoping this is the start of some good puck luck for the good guys.

How Reliable is the Canucks’ Third Line?

Photo credit: CTV.ca John Tortorella has lived and died by his top two lines this season with the Sedins and Ryan Kesler easily on pace to destroy their career averages in ice-time.  While this is perfectly fine for now, I can’t see the Canucks’ top six forwards being able to stay at the top of their game at the tail end of the season if Tortorella is going to continue to ride them so hard, especially when you factor in that Daniel, Henrik and Kesler are certain to be traveling to Russia to compete in the Olympics. I decided to...

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 4 vs. Leafs 0

Fittingly, on the night the Vancouver Canucks retired Pavel Bure’s number up to the rafters, they played perhaps their most exciting, most entertaining game of the season. On a typical Saturday Fall afternoon in Vancouver, the Canucks took on the Leafs and slugged it out with them. All four lines scored and Roberto Luongo recorded his 64th shutout – yes, his 64th shutout, just 2 shutouts behind Patrick Roy, who had 66 shutouts in 269 more games, in the NHL’s all-time shutout leaders list – en route to a 4-0 dismantling of the Eastern Conference-leading Leafs. Theory that bure was...

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 3 vs. Blues 2 (OT)

Hands up, anyone who foresaw the Vancouver Canucks going 5-1-1 on this 7-game, 11-night road trip. Written off by everyone – and seriously, if you had gone on Twitter and the message boards, or listened to the talking heads on TEAM 1040 yesterday, you would’ve thought the Canucks already had their bags packed for YVR even before last night’s game against the St. Louis Blues. The Canucks weren’t great, but they were good enough. Eddie Lack, in only his 3rd NHL start, made some terrific saves, especially in the third period when the Blues tried to get their game to...

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 3 vs. Penguins 4 (SO)

The Vancouver Canucks played the Pittsburgh Penguins in an early morning match-up so we get a dose of Sidney Crosby with our eggs and coffee. And that’s not even the best part. See, after globetrotting over the last few months, Lizz Moffat is back. And so is The Game According to Twitter. #CHBHaiku: Welcome back #TGATT One and only @lizzmoffat Back in full effect — Clay Imoo (@CanuckClay) October 19, 2013

Canucks vs. Canadiens Game Day Preview: Small Things and Big Packages 0

Canucks vs. Canadiens Game Day Preview: Small Things and Big Packages

Photo credit: canucks.com The good news for the Vancouver Canucks is, tonight’s opponents aren’t the San Jose Sharks. The bad news is, the Canucks haven’t beaten tonight’s opponents, the Montreal Canadiens, at Rogers Arena since October 7, 2009. To complicate things for the Canucks, they’ll have to go against the storied Habs without top defensemen, Alex Edler, who was suspended for 3 games because Tomas Hertl lowered his head and skated it into Edler’s shoulder for his head shot on Tomas Hertl. Former Habs defenseman, Yannick Weber, who has been playing as a winger, is expected to move back and...

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 1 vs. Ducks 3

Not exactly sure what happened between Monday and last night, but maybe the switch was flipped – just off? Or was it connected to the SkyTrain, because boy were there issues. Regardless, this tweet sums up the game nicely: I was offered ticket to tonight's #Canucks game, but I refused. So far it looks like I made the right decision. #TGATT #jobhunting — Walter Siu (@waterboy99troop) April 26, 2013 At least we have TGATT to make things better!

CHB TV: Who Does Zack Kassian Look Like

In our last episode of CHB TV (which went live yesterday), we found ourselves at an impasse when we asked the question “Who does Zack Kassian look like?” And while our debate was lively, we thought we would leave it up to you our readers to settle the score. So what say you friends of CHB?

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 3 vs. Blackhawks 1 0

The Game According to Twitter: Canucks 3 vs. Blackhawks 1

It’s like the Canucks flipped the proverbial switch last night. I mean, after all their 40-minute efforts and 10-minute wins, they played perhaps their most complete game of the season and beat the rival Chicago Blackhawks by a 3-1 score. It was an eventful night, with the Sedins producing their usual share of Sedinery, the newly-formed Higgins-Roy-Kesler line showing some chemistry, and even Max Lapierre played his most annoying game of the season (in a good way). 20-year old Frankie Corrado also made his NHL debut. After spending most of the year in the OHL and suiting up for not...
